OK, today is D Day and we're just about to rehearse for the last time before opening. I'm taking a minute though to tell you what happened yesterday:

… We received our fantastic outfits made by Kathi Glass…which you'll see in our book, published in September on Booth-Clibborn Editions and DCA

… and on…

… we set up the lights…

… and the videos…

… I carefully read the press…

… we set up the marquee…

… Alex finally arrived with THE GORGEOUS  HIGH HEELED SHOE GUITARS!…
… and the CIGAR BOXES!…… the FANTASTIC cigar boxes!!! also coming in our book!!

Ok, off to rehearsal now, talk to you later,

Yesterday, Day - 2 before exhibition, everyone was working as little ants to make everything right.

… Nadine & Kroot taking care of the soundsystem during our dance rehearsal…

Today is D Day - 1, pictures are being taken.

… why is Merche pointing at you with two hairdryers?…

… why is Melissa painting Kroot?…

… why is Micha looking at you? what is he trying to say?…

… what is this smurfette dressed in a fluo hoodie doing in front of the castle?…

… do the smurfettes dressed in fluo hoodies all like to have a castle as background?…

DON'T ART, FASHION, MUSIC @ DCA = D DAY - 4

Hi there! Faustine speaking, live from Dundee, Scotland, where Chicks On Speed are setting up the "Don't Art, Music, Fashion" exhibition that will open june 4th.

We've been here for a few days already, printing stuff, building the stage, doing some painting action, enjoying the greatness of Scotland, writing surreal texts, recording, cooking, smoking, dancing, sawing outfits, drawing, brainstorming, shooting videos, rolling 10 meters long pieces of art, unrolling them, climbing on ladders, eating fish & chips, drinking coffee, discussing, freezing, standing in the rain and the minute after in the sun and the minute after in the rain and the minute after… and not much sleeping. 

We've already done lots of things obviously but guess what : the best is still to come and that's why from today on, i will document everything we make here, with wonderful pictures taken with that kind of camera you can also call your mum with.

So, 4 days before the opening and performing, we…

… Were lucky enough to have a bright blue sky over DCA this morning…

… took conceptual pictures with drillers and screws (well… I did)…

… spent some time with the wonderful team of the printing studio that's part of DCA…

here is one of the 10 meters long pieces of art i told you about

… We've noticed that seagulls like french fries just like you and me… 

… we've painted outfits for the video shooting…

… nice…

… the great Sissi sew them for us in the twinkling of an eye…

… we then headed to the beach where we shot a video starring Rapha & Dash (Dash is pictured here at his best), two dogs that will soon become legendary (also on the picture are Kroot, Micha and Merche)…

… and here is Melissa talking framing with Rob, who shot us and can also tell great jokes about sheep…
