We´re still buzzing from our trip to Vienna, which merged into our trip to 10 Corso Como, Milan, where we performed a lecture Happening, to launch our new book Chicks on Speed Don´t Art, Fashion, Music (booth Clibborn Editions/DCA)....but let me go back..... In Vienna, we were invited to install our installation piece, as part of Figura cuncta videntis (THE ALL SEEING EYE) homage to Christophe Schlingenseif (at Thyssen Bornemisza Art Contemporary) over the 3 days we jammed with JAPANTHER live, partied with our newly found art gang, (including artists; Neven Aladag, Palli Banine & Davíð Örn Halldórsson, Ragnar Kjartansson, Francesca Thyssen and TBA 21 crew) took over the Secession anual Art dinner and just put Vienna in a spin...which is still spinning we hear from Francesca Thyssen! All this energy then carried onto 10 Corso Como, where we met with the lovely Federico Poletti, who together with Diane and Daniela Zenone supported the initial concept of our Happening and we send you chicks kisses.
We were so kindly hosted in the 10 Corso Como Mega Art Craft complex by Carla Souzanni and stayed in the creative and immaculate 3 rooms, which is like no where else on the plannet! Every inch of Melissa and my rooms, from ceiling to floor and wall to wall, was conceptually and aesthetically conceived, you feel "corsocomofied" as if starring in a fashion film of your very own!
We began the Lecture Happening with a singing introductory song ART RULES, a whimsical song about the art market, which quickly broke into a keynote presentation musical, ending with a humorous series of questions/answers, mainly led by Max Kibardin and hipster Milanese Art scene. Sabrina Vanotti, Max´s wife and incredible fashion director (Velvet magazine) set out to transform us Chicks for the night, as Melissa put it "twisted & strange & a surprise" we wore Prada for the first time, together with Max made, haute couture shoes, matching the High Heeled shoe guitar, which was installed in a glass box on one of the tables, surrounded by our latest bags VOODOO CHANEL tote bags, oh....i wonder what karl will think of that!? Carla definitely liked them!
